That astronomical price doesn't mean that every brand hit it out of the park, though. Looking at you, puppymonkeybaby.
Automotive-wise, the ads were pretty entertaining, though.
A standout was the Honda Ridgeline commercial.
"Talking animals always amount to a well-received Super Bowl spot, and Honda took full advantage of the familiar trope with this Babe-inspired ad for the Ridgeline that featured a bunch of sheep belting out Queen's classic "Somebody to Love." Throw in a talking dog at the end and you have 70 seconds guaranteed to put a smile on even the saddest Panther fan's face." (Rolling Stone)
Honda's luxury relative Acura also had a good night with their NSX supercar spot.
Edmunds tweeted that, on their site, searches for the 2017 NSX skyrocketed, up 661%.
Just behind Acura on Edmunds.com searches was Buick's Cascada convertible.
"Oh well done, Buick advertisers. There is a lot that is just great about all of this. First off, the fact that Odell Beckham is able to get his own Super Bowl commercial is pretty awesome in itself. The catch of the bouquet was masterfully done as well.
"Then, of course, we have the crown jewel of it all — the nice old lady dropping the, “She Odell’d it.” I mean, does it really get any better than that?" (FanSided)
Kia also tapped a celebrity for their ad, which was also considered a top spot.
"Christopher Walken is the perfect celebrity for a Super Bowl commercial. Add that to the perfectly punny concept of having him hanging out in a walk-in, no, Walken closet and giving inspirational life advice, and you have a winner." (Billboard)
